Piet Mondrian

Art II students took a look at the work of Dutch Artist Piet Mondrian, known as the "Father of Abstractionism" and most famous for his painting Broadway Boogie Woogie. After checking out his geometric compositions they did their very own designs with a personal twist.

Homecoming Week

It's Homecoming week and in celebration each day is set aside as a fun day to dress in a particular theme. Monday was Camo day and Tuesday Retro Day. Here's some of the art gang looking pretty snazzy in their 80's dress. Tomorrow is Tacky/Mismatch Day. Can't wait to post some of the wacky outfits kids will be wearing.

Life was Temporarily Interrupted

Never thought I would see on the Marque at school a sign that reads "Showers Available"
But when you live through what we have lived through and are still experiencing almost three weeks later you would understand why life was temporarily interrupted. I spent two weeks solid totally alone in the basement of my home where an old Fisher Wood burning stove kept me warm. I cooked on top of it, heated water and toasted way too many marshmallows waiting for the power to return. Thanks to some of the most wonderful neighbors in the world I survived and will always remember the effects the Ice Storm of 2009 had on the state of Kentucky and in Livingston County. I hope to get back into blogging as soon as I get past this lag I've been feeling in real living since the storm. I hope things get back to normal very soon.
