The lesson is on the art element of value. Shading objects can come in the form of hatching, cross hatching or in the form of dots. This project is probably one of the least favorite of my art students because it is so intense. I hear comments like, "This is going to take me forever!" "I'm getting a headache from all these dots!" And last but not least, "I think I'm going crazy!" The end product is always impressive and sticking with it is another lesson to be learned. And as I told MG today, "Maybe this will teach you patience."
